Why I Love EFT

There are so many things I love about EFT (tapping). In case you have no idea what EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique - means, it’s a healing method which combines the Chinese acupuncture points with modern psychology. The idea is that you gently tap on acupuncture points (instead of sticking needles in) on your body while the practitioner guides you through certain statements. So the release happens at energetic, emotional and physical levels.

OK, so back to my love of EFT.

EFT helps you to rewire your whole nervous system because you’re calming down your Amygdala. The Amygdala is a part of the brain that controls your stress response—fight or flight. This is in the limbic system, or ‘mammalian brain’ which developed millions of years before spoken language. Words alone do not register with the Amygdala and this is why tapping is so effective: it has a direct and immediate effect of down-regulating the Amygdala’s reaction to real or imagined threat.

It works at conscious and subconscious levels and I love how effective it is in releasing limiting beliefs. It’s like you’re literally *changing your mind* about something you have been taught to believe all your life.
