This took me a decade! I want to collapse the timeline for you
When I started offering healing, I worked with writers. As a writer myself, I knew what kept them stuck and what outcomes they desired. But when I tried to ‘convince’ mainstream writers that they had to do the inner work, I felt a bit salesy.
I didn’t like it and started offering sessions on my teacher Edward Mannix’s platform. Oh, the bliss of not explaining what I do and the relief when people just showed up with all sorts of issues.
For a while it felt good, but soon I realised that this structure was stifling my progress. There were only so many low-cost sessions I could offer without burning out completely….
So I tried to venture on my own again.
From working with writers, I observed that most of them were stuck because of some childhood trauma. I tried to speak to that issue and attracted some clients, all of whom had one thing in common: childhood se*ual trauma.
I pivoted again, but talking about se*ual trauma without Facebook restricting your reach was hard, so I dropped it and switched direction one more time: 'relationship and trauma healing coach'.
I figured that the quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life and of course everyone would want to do something about it….
As you can imagine, it didn’t work out as I thought it would.
I might have walked in circles longer but thankfully, my niche has found me – healers and therapists were drawn to what I do and how I do it, so my current direction developed organically.
But it took me ten years to get to this point. Most people can’t afford to meander like I did for a decade.
