Who was magnetic in your life?
I had a friend at university who was so incredibly magnetic. She turned heads and people flocked around her, drawn to her beauty and light like a moth to a lamp.
I was not an exception. But when I got closer, it turned out she wasn't as pretty on the inside. There was betrayal and heartbreak involved, and somewhere in my system, I associated magnetism with people like her. They attract people and then hurt them. Why would I ever want to be like her? Why would I ever want to be magnetic?
I did some healing around her recently, and managed to disentangle magnetism from toxicity.
What I discovered in the process was that I’ve been magnetic all along. You see, just like the magnet has a side that draws in and a side that repels, your magnetism has the same effect on people. It's our old wounds that can accidentally push people away.
Another important learning for me was that magnetism is not a personality trait. People are often drawn to your presence. What dilutes your magnetism is your wounded parts that decided that being noticed is dangerous, vain, or a precursor to being hurt.
What about you? Have you had someone like this in your life who was magnetic but toxic in some way, so you decided ‘No, thank you. I’ll never be like them.’ It’s time to heal that, because it may be having an effect on your ability to attract the right people to your work.
This is why I’ve created ‘How to be magnetic to your ideal clients’, a guided 22 min healing to release past hurts.
